Red Berets 0 Thika United 1

Thika United extended their lead at the top of the table by two points after a hard fought 1-0 win over Red Berets at Sher Karuturi ground in Naivasha.

Denis Odhiambo scored the all-important goal in the 51st minute with a big shot from 30 metres out.

Later, United manager John Kamau said their aim was to keep up the current pace during the first leg and then go full blast in the second to grab the league title they have narrowly missed in the past.

Red Berets found themselves having to look for an alternative stadium after their Greensteads Preparatory School, Nakuru, open field was discontinued by the KPL after crowd trouble involving another home team, Ulinzi Stars and the visiting Gor Mahia of Nairobi.
